Top 10 of 2008
I’ve got so much to do today it’s ridiculous, and I kind of don’t have time to be blogging but I’m determined to take five minutes out of the day to post one final entry for 2008.
I’d come up with my own list for 08, but there are already so many that there really isn’t any point. Not to mention, if you read this site regularly you know I list my favorite products all the time…So, there wouldn’t be anything particularly special about a list I might compile.
I’ll leave you with two top 10 lists that have nothing to do with make-up. These lists are really different from anything you might normally find here – But, I think both are worth checking out.
Photographers Kareem Black and Mel D. Cole have lists up on the URB site…

Long Lasting High Tech Eyecolor
That’s what is written on the outside packaging of the NEW Urban Decay CREAM shadow.
I can’t think of anything better suited to call them. This really is an innovative product, as it’s a huge improvement on traditional cream eyeshadow.
AND…
I just visited the Urban Decay site, and it looks like they are going to be available sooner than I was initially told…
You can now get your hands on them in 2 DAYS!
Here they are at the top of the list previewing the 2009 collection:

These shadows are BANANAS. I’ve never used a cream shadow like this before – I promise you there is nothing like this on the market. They are amazing, and feel lux and are exactly what has been missing in make-up as far as cream shadows go.
The formula is lightweight and feels kind of whipped – Which allows for seamless blending and layering options. They last long, do not smudge, crease, fall or move in any way. They are luminous and come in a variety of shades inspired by 70s vintage colors: Wearable shades such as Rehab (a gorgeous soft red/brown) and delicious candy colors like Radium (a pastel blue that reminds me of a Care Bear), and Delinquent (the most stunning purple I’ve ever seen). There are also glittered offerings like moonshine (a pearly white with silver glitter), and my favorite (which I also wore on my birthday) Asphalt (a dark grey/black with silver glitter).
There are more colors, but I don’t want to spoil everything for you.
You MUST get these. You NEED these. These shadows are going to be one of the must have products of 2009.
The really good news (aside from the fact that you won’t have to wait for them) is that they are super easy to apply! They come in a squeezy tube with a sponge applicator – very similar to a tube a lip gloss.
A little goes a long way. And with the 12 colors offered, there are endless color combinations and new shades that can be created by blending and layering two or three together.
Get them January 2nd at urbandecay.com!!!
A Decade in Make-up
When I was 17 I wore MAC Rebel lipstick paired with clear lip glass on top. This was before tinted lipglass – Way before. This was back when lip glass was the ‘must have’ make-up product for any girl who didn’t seem to mind if the occasional bug got stuck to her lip. What’s a bug on the lip when you look good? It’s protein right?
Here is a picture from my 17th birthday:
I grew up in New York. That should explain the Drag Queen lap dance which is possibly confusing to some of you. And yes, I am wearing Rebel lipstick in this photo.
Earlier this month I turned 27.
That’s a decade in make-up. A decade of discovering brands and products that would eventually become essentials in my career.
Here’s a photo from my 27th birthday. Check the birthday flan

10 years after my 17th birthday, I’m still on top of what’s hot in make-up. See my eye make-up? It’s from Urban Decay. It’s a new cream shadow…Not available until SPRING 2009.
Jealous? You totally should be. They are amazing, and very few people have them. I have ALL 12 COLORS.
Full Review and color preview coming TOMORROW!
Pretty in Pink
I once read that Jessica Simpson uses a pink eyeshadow as a lip stain because all of the lip stains on the market are too severe looking for her fair skin tone…
That was a few years ago…
I hope by now that someone has made her aware of the existence of Posie Tint.

I was unbelievably excited to receive this product – And the day this package arrived (along with tons of other amazing products that I will review at a later time) – I tore into it and applied it to myself on the train (The package arrived just as I was running out the door and I could not wait to see what posie tint would look like).
This is exactly like the original benetint that everyone loves, only lighter. It’s soft, and sweet looking – And it isn’t just for fair skinned beauties. The petal pink stain shows up on all skin tones, which I know because I tested it out!
If you need a last minute holiday gift, this is a must for any girly girl. Get it at your nearest Sephora.
Behind the Scenes: LRG
Last Tuesday marked my 3rd time working an LRG shoot. Last year this was my first campaign – And it’s been an incredible journey ever since. Although this shoot was a whole lot quieter than the previous two, it still remains my favorite job of the year.
Thanks to photographer Kareem Black for thinking of me again – I heart you even if you insist on trying to drop me on my head

OMG I LOVE THESE!!!
For this shoot I used You Rebel Lite, and Some Kind of Gorgeous on her skin. My first time working with both products and I love how it turned out – Will definitely be using them more often…

It’s all because of me that he looks so handsome in this video.
The Lost Santi Image
I finally tracked this one down from a Santogold shoot way back in…April? I can’t remember the date exactly since it was a few months ago. I do know that I got lost with Santi and her stylist in the depths of DUMBO – The part that’s still not cute. Long story short, I walked crazy far from the train station and almost died when I set my bags down next to an ELECTRIC FENCE.
Um. Yeah.
Anyway…
